King Trumpet Silver
Q: I just bought a trumpet from a peer (no I won't say for how much) and was wondering what I could find out about it. It's labeled a King 1500, is silver/nickel (plated maybe?), has a thumb trigger, but a screw on 3rd valve trigger. Serial number 794xxx.

I have the opportunity to buy an H.N. White King "master model" trumpet for $600. It has a silver finish, and is cosmetically perfect. The serial number of 15,349 should date it between 1905-1910. I have not tried it yet, but assuming it is

i was a bit weary that with the trigger i might accidentally press it, but it is in a very convinient location so its easy to press when you need it, and not when you dont. The sound i get from it is amazing, and it is very easy to play. also, mine has a really cool flower inlay on the bell…idk if most of them do, but i think that adds to it, and definately makes it look cooler, than the boring yamahas, or bachs.

I have a silver plated King trumpet and I'm trying to clean it up so I can sell it on Ebay, but it has a problem of being tarnished from use in high school. Any suggestions of what to clean it up with?
