Olds Ambassador Trumpet
Q: I have had this trumpet for approx. 35 years and haven't played it in over 20 years. I got it out last night and it plays and feels new. What would it be worth?
This is a silver trumpet and I was told that they are rare.. Is this true?
A: I don't know the answer, but I can tell you to take it to a music instrument repair shop (you can get referals from music instrument stores). There is a blue book for musical instrument values and most repair shops have it.
What year was it made in? and any information about it in general would be nice.
I obviously have no interest in buying it (and have no financial interest in it), but when I pulled my old Fillmore out of the basement to compare to the eBay horn, I started playing it with a Bach 3C mouthpiece and discovered what a really fine... It fits in an old 8 track cassette box (I think 9" by 18" by 5") which is way smaller than the trumpet. The article states a cornet is much better than a pocket, and good for travel as it is not much larger than a pocket....

The serial number of my F.E Olds Ambassador trumpet is 105175. It doesn't have any dents, just a bunch of scratches. It's brass too. How much do you think it is worth?
