The range should remain the same. The problem is not getting high enough it is hitting the right note while your up there. If your worried about that you might consider getting a single Bb instead, but really if you could hit a C above
I have had this single Bb horn for 3 years and it has a fourth valve on it called a stop valve. What does it do?!
However, most of music we like is writen for long forgotten single or authentic valveless horn so, here we are back to authentic instrument. Today, orchestral double horn holds a royal place as a reliable and versatil but for the most part for the clear and even range of almost four octaves. This creates warm, distant but lirical tone of the horn sound one that composers salute in their works....
