Q: Hello
I am interested Is it possible to use Boss MT-2 pedal or any other pedals with ROLAND CUBE 30X AMPLIFIER? will it have a good sound? will the pedal do its job or it will be fuzzy?
Like the question says, I have a Boss MT-2 effect pedal and I need Yngwie Malmsteen tone, I dont know if it helps but I have DiMarzio PAF-Pro in the neck, and DiMarzio the breed in the bridge. I also have a coil splitter. I play through a Line6 Spider
I had a Boss MT-2 Metal Zone distortion pedal sitting around so I thought I might see if I can make the pedal a bit more organic, and full sounding. The Boss MT-2 Metal Zone distortion pedal is well known as a high gain, but very sterile sounding pedal. org on Boss Metalzone MT2 mods. C42: 1uf MKT Capacitor D3: Red LED D4: 1n4001 diode This makes the sound more dynamic and full....
I decided to revisit the previous mods I had done to my Boss MT-2 as I wasn’t completely happy with the sound as a distortion pedal. I was having a look over the other changes I had made, and when I looked at the PCB I realised that I had accidentally removed the capacitor fromC24, not C25. As in my earlier post about modifying the MT-2 I had tried one 1N4001 diode and one red LED, as well as two LEDs....
I have a lot of pedals… In fact, I have 2 distortion and 2 overdrive pedals (though only the MT2 and the OD3 are regularly in my rig. You’ll find that you get amazing sustain and a huge sound that you won’t be able to replicate (easily… I’m sure the huge Boss distortion box comes close, but for the price…) with any other pedal. Even with some of the newer metal pedals on the market, this pedal still sells well. For most metal/hard rock music, the gain range is enough for me. If I need yet more gain, I punch it up with an overdrive, or a compressor pedal for a cleaner boost. No… Instead, it’s very edgy and smooth as can be. It has a mid-sweep knob on it to help sculpt your tone....
