how much you play? def if its more than 30 mins a day....its an investment...prob would be super happy and more willing to play more with better guitar..

I am heavily leaning towards buying this guitar, and it would be my first. Has anyone played it or know more about it?

I have not, but I checked it out and it looks sweet! I would buy it and play it, you bet. As a first guitar you could not possibly go wrong.

i have a cheap chinese made acoustic parlor-size guitar. what strings are best on parlor's and what type or style of music is most played on them?

Parlor-size guitars aren't overly loud so this is not the best guitar if you're trying to make yourself heard over the banjo and mandolin in a loud bluegrass band, for instance. But it would probably sound great for fingerpicking folk song accompaniments,
