What is the difference between a spanish guitar and a normal acoustic?

Q: I thought the spanish guitar had a smaller hole in it, yet when i search on ebay for them, they all just look like normal acoustic guitars, am i missing something here? Maybe the guitar im thinking of is called something different?

A: A Spanish guitar typical has nylon strings and has a smaller body and an acoustic guitar usually has steel strings and a larger body.

Is the Spanish guitar very different from a regular acoustic, basically can you play rock/.indie songs on a spanish guitar or will it sound wrong? Also does the size of the guitar matter in terms of being able to play certain songs?


it won't sound wrong it is just harder to play i have both a spanish and a normal acoustic as well as an electric but the spanish acoustic has a wide neck and is just more akward to play

It all depends on how commited you would be. Acoustic guitars are what are usually reccomended for beginners, and are commonly cheaper, so I would reccomend that, but okay if you don’t want to. I have a a Spanish acoustic guitar and have later on added a single pickup to it.But when i plug in the jack of the pickup to my computer's mic socket no sound comes out! Is my connection method wrong or is it the wrong socket i have plugged in???


Your method is wrong, because it is missing a preamp or a DI box. You can't just plug it into your computer, 'cause it doesn't work that way.
