[2008-03-06 13:45:56]

Q: I'm looking for a piano-focused keyboard with weighted keys.

I'm looking for the following characteristics:

- Inexpensive ( $600 or less -- I'd prefer it to be as cheap as possible)
- Full 76/88 key keyboard

A: search the pianoworld.com message boards
they helped me choose the piano which was right for me and im sure they can do the same for you.

I personally like the yamaha units but they are a little bright for some people

Yamaha P-140

I'm looking for a piano keyboard that has weighted keys. I don't want to spend tons of money but I would still like to know what's at the bottom and top range in terms of price.
-Thanks for the help
Oh, and how about something with good

$500 and up (and way up ....)

Least costly ones are Casio Privia 110, Yamaha P75, P85, M-Audo ProKeys

A Closer Look At Weighted Keyboard Technology

There are many electronic music keyboards that feature what are often called “weighted keys” which are supposed to imitate the key action (how the key behaves when pressed) of an acoustic piano. Is it easy to make a transition from keyboard to piano if never had weighted keys?
[2010-08-19 14:27:45]
Yamaha P-140

Hey everyone.

I was wondering if it would be easy to make the transition from a keyboard to a piano if i've never used weighted keys before. and also, is there a big difference between switching to 88 keys when always have been using 76

Don't worry, it's really easy! It does take a little getting used to, you will have to put more force into playing. And there isn't really a difference with using 88 keys instead of 76, with 88 keys you can just play more pieces that have a bigger range!
