Worship Confessional 4.13.08
We kicked off a new series this week, called "Words Proceeding". It's about communication, and we are addressing three issues: Request (Talking to God), Relationships (Talking to Others) and Hearing God (God Talks to You). We are taxing more and more to do more inventive graphics in-house, and one of our resident artists came up with this concept with the Scrabble tiles.
We anticipated a right service and aimed for a slightly reduced group. Originally I planned an acoustic servicing, but it morphed into something scarcely slightly unplugged - two acoustic guitars, mandolin, bass and drums. I played a illiberal organ on one tune and stuck to a piano characteristic on the Roland keyboard for everything else. We had four vocalists - one more than I aimed for, because I messed up some scheduling - but it worked out pretty.
Attendance was good - we are moving specifically as anticipated, based on growth statistics all about the past five years. There were a itsy-bitsy over 1,000 folks there (both services combined, everybody included - not solely the big room. Probably 400+ in each help in big room attendance...)
We opened with a five moment countdown, which we have organize to work very effectively. We start on everything, and more and more folks are getting into the office on time as well. Our planned origin tune was John Mayer's 'Say', which is a terrific long story - but we only used it first assignment, because we went twelve minutes during the course of (how? Still haven't figured that out...) and something had to go...
-It Is Soundly (traditional, but Jars of Clay plan) Very nice way to do a hymn..or a fatherland song...
