I bought a used Antares vocal processor on ebay for less than $200. It not only has a compressor but alot of other useful settings and adjustments. I love it! Check it out, link below.

Run the compressor from your send at +4dB mono if switchable, then pesonus makes a parametric EQ, PRESONUS EQ3B, also with a mono option and run your compressor to the EQ so your tones not flat. first thing: No you wouldn’t really want to run the compressor through an AUX if you can avoid it. I’ve rackmounted pairs of them on 1U rack shelves using the bottom center screw, although when mounted that way they’re a little over 1U tall so I had to leave a blank rack space above them. Both of these XLR adapters have phantom power that is sent over the XLR cable to the condenser mic (Audio Technica AT-825 or NRG Research SA-568). for your problem, if there is no 4 pin port in your hdd, you could use an aftermarket converter of 4 pin to sata. Phantom power never gets to the camera - the XLR adapter is in the way. I bought a SATA hard drive instead of IDE and instead of sending it back and ordering an IDE I am trying to see if this could work for me at all....
