Q: how is "moog" pronounced? could you give any examples of well known songs in which it is used? thanks
A: It's pronounced how it's spelled as far as I know. It's used in a lot of songs. Emerson Lake and Palmer's Lucky Man has a long Moog solo at the end. I'd have to think a bit more to think of any others.
I've worked with Fl Studio a bit but not to the fullest of its potential..

Hyman’s record “MOOG”, and Perrey/Kingsley’s record “The In Sound from Way Out” were two of the earliest albums that demonstrated that, yes, you could indeed make “real music” with a Moog Synthesizer. Meanwhile, out in the mainstream of our musical culture, record producers and performing musicians tended to think of the Moog Synthesizer as an instrument that could make funny sounds, but you couldn’t make “real music” with it. . But not all... During the same period, in midtown Manhattan, Jean-Jacques Perrey and Gershon Kingsley were working out the moves to produce music directly on multi-track tape, using conventionally recorded sounds along with their Moog Synthesizer....
A young electrical engineer named Bob Moog suggested Deutsch help him wire up a better (and more portable) instrument, and so the pair spent two weeks tinkering in Moog’s unfinished basement in Trumansburg, New York. Adopted by pop artists like Kraftwerk, Stevie Wonder, and disco producer Giorgio Moroder, it helped create the sound of the ’70s. Yet the effects they created couldn’t change after the keys were struck, and electronic composer Herb Deutsch found that limiting. Deutsch explained articulation to Moog: Hitting a piano key is an “attack”....
New artists love the analog sound, and many are gathering at next week’s MoogFest in Bob Moog’s adopted hometown of Asheville, NC. Jim and Greg talk to Brian Kehew, the Bob Moog Foundation’sofficial historian, about the synthesizer’s history and... Kehew also co-founded an all-analog band called Moog Cookbook in the ‘90s and has worked in the studio with Fiona Apple, Aimee Mann and Moog superstars, Emerson, Lake & Palmer....
